An Oystercatcher joined the Green Sandpiper at 07.15hrs and stayed all day (CG/JP/S. Grove).
This evening a Water Rail called and the drake Garganey was feeding on the Whin Pool (CG).

Butterfly counts in the ancient meadows were very good. They included 59 Red Admiral, 114 Small Tortoiseshell, 92 Comma, 2 Peacock (new brood), 6 Small Copper, 35 Large White, and 12 Purple Hairstreak on Oak (Chris Parkin).
