Well-I-am!
The 15 Turnstone recorded at Old Moor this morning does I believe equal the Barnsley area record, which was of a flock of 15 flying over Carlton Industrial Estate on 18th November 1976.
Additional (or extra details) to Bernard's blog:
Old Moor: 2 Bitterns, 2 Black-necked Grebes on The Mere, Red Kite flew northwest over Bolton late morning, 5 Sanderling, the 2 Bar-tailed Godwits had gone AWOL late morning, Wood Sand' through early afternoon, 4 Med' Gulls on Island 2, 6 Arctic Terns.
Wombwell Ings: Grey Plover, 2 Sanderling.
Both Broomhill Flash and Manvers Lake checked and pretty much devoid of migrants so far and no news yet from Bolton Ings.
Area totals so far include 35+ Ringed Plover and 60+ Dunlin
