LRPs gathering at Edderthorpe

A high count of 28 Little Ringed Plovers were on Edderthorpe Flash early morning and this must surely be one of the highest concentrations in the UK. It does still fall a way short of the Barnsley record count of 42 though from Old Moor in July 1999 (maybe tomorrow). There are lots of juveniles included in the count which suggests a very good breeding season. Also here;- Ringed Plover 11, Avocet 3, Redshank 19, Black-tailed Godwit 4, Shelduck 2 + 8 young, Teal 2.
