Old moor et al - Monday 10th March

Sightings today at Old Moor from Dave Waddington and Jeff Wragg included Whooper Swan 11 adults on the Mere, Avocet 3 wader scrape, Redshank 5, Bittern booming, Mediterranean Gull 1 adult, Chiffchaff 1 singing, Oystercatcher 4 and Pink Footed Goose 120 heading west.

On Wombwell Ings there was a drake Pintail and at Adwick 6 Avocets this morning, 4 this afternoon with the other 2 relocating to the Wader Scrape.

A couple of additions to yesterdays sightings were single Pink Footed Goose and c5500 Black Headed Gulls on Old Moor before leaving East at 18.00 hours.

As posted earlier by Ian, a Cetti's Warbler was reported from the Reedbeds singing/calling, could the observers please leave details in the sightings book at Old Moor, thanks.

The couple in the hide who were the only ones to hear this were from Scunthorpe. He mentioned quite a lot of other locations where he had become familiar with Cetti's. He said it had produced one single burst of song and seemed to be located between the hide and the screen.

Cheers Ian, the bird was noted in the sightings book (calling) but no other details. So again if the observers could leave their detail's it would be appreciated.
