Despite the recent showery weather, the water level at the Ingbirchworth group of reservoirs is still falling at an alarming rate. From overflowing in the second week of April to 0.75m. dowm as of today (11th May).
This is bad news for the local waterfowl. This Coot at Ingbirchworth Reservoir, whos eggs should hatch any day now, will probably be OK as the nest is still over the water. Later broods, and breeding attempts by Little and Great Crested Grebes, will probably not fair as well, unless we get significantly more rainfall.
