Beware of white faces

The juvenile Greater Scaup was at Ingbirchworth Reservoir again this morning. A note of caution though; there are also 2 Tufted Ducks with white markings around the bill - one quite substantially so, and perhaps a hybrid.  However, both are slightly smaller and less robust than the Scaup, show slight crests and have black tips to their bills. The Scaup typically has a more round headed appearance. Also present here - 15 Greylag Geese, 36 Canada Geese, 85 Mallards, 22 Tufted Ducks, 3 juvenile Little Grebes, 3 adult  + 1 juvenile Great Crested Grebes, 1 Grey Heron, 6 Moorhens, 18 Coots and 15 Lesser Black-backed Gulls.
Spicer House Lane - 75 Greylag Geese, 50+ Lesser Black-backed Gulls and 1 second-summer Yellow-legged Gull.
Royd Moor Hill - 500+ Starlings.
