John, I don't know if this old record is of any interest but it hasn't been published anywhere else. On 10th June 2005 I had a Snakefly at Edderthorpe. I assume it was Raphidia notata as there are no Conifers in the area. Got some crippling views as it rested on the car for around 5 mins.
Haven't seen a Snakefly locally for a number of years. I am quite happy to receive any records/images of unusual Barnsley insects. coldwell1951@yahoo.co.uk
