For the sixth day there was no visible migration this morning. However, a phone call from 5 observers, who had seen Honey Buzzard in the area for a short time, released us from the viewing point late morning. Unfortunately the bird could not be relocated.
Anglers CP: Black-necked Grebe 1, 3rd Summer Yellow-legged Gull, Lapwing 200, Common Sandpiper 1, Goldeneye 1 female and House Martin 100.
Wintersett Res: A juvenile Hobby was chasing Swallows. 3 Yellow Wagtail flew south. A flock of 50 Goldfinch was around the west bank.
A total of 78 birds were ringed this morning, including: 15 Swallow, 12 Reed Warbler, 6 Sedge Warbler, 6 Whitethroat, 4 Lesser Whitethroat, 5 Blackcap, 10 Chiffchaff, 9 Willow Warbler and a Kingfisher.
