A Landmark day for Meadow Pipit when our 30,000th bird of the autumn flew south at 09.02 hrs - 320 is a good count for the date. A Little Egret flew in to the shallows at dusk but flew towards Wres after 10 minutes.
Going south: Meadow Pipit 320. Skylark 82. Mistle Thrush 1. alba Wagtail 46. Bullfinch 2. Greenfinch 2. Linnet 96. Goldfinch 23. Reed bunting 12.
Going south west: Wood Pigeon 500.
Going west: Snipe 2. Redwing 196. Chaffinch 11. Siskin 22.
Going west north west: Starling 910 (including flocks of 400 and 260)
Going east: Pink-footed Goose 400 + 46 west.
Anglers CP: Goosander 12 present, then left west, presumably to Bretton Hall Lake. The regular female type Merlin was seen at 07.59hrs. Blackcap 1 female ringed.ringed. Lesser Redpoll 3 + 10 Disposal Point. Greylag Goose 104. Shoveler 60. Wigeon 110.
Wintersett Res: Red-crested Pochard, 1 drake. Cetti's Warbler males - north bank, north east bank + 1 SW CHRes. + 1 1stY male ringed ACP.
Cold Hiendley Res: Scaup 1 juvenile. Chiffchaff 1 + 1 boathouse WRes..
Haw Park Wood: Goldfinch 70.
Disposal Point: Siskin 3.
29 Birds were ringed ACP: Cetti's Warbler 1 male. Blackcap 1 female. Goldcrest 4. Redwing 9. Song Thrush 1 Blackbird 1. Goldfinch 4. Lesser Redpoll 2.
