11 - 15 degrees with 5/8 cloud and a light south westerly.
Anglers CP VisMig:per @Fitztbirder 07.10 - 12.10hrs.
A good number of Redwing moving from dawn, but had all but dried up by
09.00, when high flocks of Pink-footed Geese started moving east. We ended up with a
record count in 11 skeins! Undoubted highlight though was a juvenile Pomarine
Skua that went north at 10.20 - (3rd Wintersett record, the others being
in 1993 and 1989). Almost as unexpected was a covey of nine Grey
Partridge that noisily u-turned past the watch point and flew back to
nearby fields (Only second record for a vismig watch, I think!)
Pomarine Skua - 1 juvenile went north at 10.20hrs.
Pink-footed Goose: A record count of 1545 in 11 skeins!
Going south: Redwing 1352. Skylark 18. Swallow 11. House Martin 2. Song Thrush 7. Mistle Thrush 2. alba Wagtail 43. Meadow Pipit 53. Linnet 32. Goldfinch 24. Reed Bunting 4. Siskin 4 + 2 west.
Going west: Chaffinch 1
Going north east: Jay 4, very high.
Anglers CP: Merlin 1. Rock Pipit still present north bank per @Croftonbirder.
Wintersett Res: A Lesser Whitethroat was in the boathouse hedge.
