Edderthorpe, Wednesday (in) mo(u)rning

Ten Little Egrets are on the flash this morning. Shelduck 6, Teal 21 and Shoveler 11 amongst the wildfowl. Black-tailed Godwit 5, Dunlin 2, Green Sand 3, Common Sand 2 and a juvenile Peregrine decided to terrorise the Black-headed Gulls rather than Lapwings around seven o clock.

An excellent count of Little Egrets Graham. Do you know if they are roosting at Edderthorpe or down at Old Moor. I called last night on my way home at about 6.30 and 5 Egrets were on including 1 in the large trees other side of river. Cheers.

No, I dont know if they are roosting here. Some definatly are not as I see them come from Old Moor direction early morning. 8 were here when I arrived at 05.50 and 2 more flew in. I didnt see where they (5) disappeared to last night (they were here until dusk)as I was occupied looking at hirundines and then the egrets had 'gone'. yes, Im off to Specsavers tomorrow.
