The Edge 8th August

Wombwell Ings mid AM- A good start to the day with 10 Little Egrets(Graham's Edderthorpe birds on tour?), 5 Greenshank and 2 Green Sandpiper. Also present were 3 Cormorant, 5 Grey Heron, 35 Canada Geese, 1 Greylag, 61 Mallard, 3 Teal, 2 Gadwall, 105 Lapwing, 1 Golden Plover(J.Thompson) and 3 Linnet.

Broomhill Flash late AM- Present were 22 Little Grebe, 1 Grey Heron, 3 Little Egret(from Wombwell), 2 Mute Swan, 83 Canada Geese, 1 Greylag, 89 Tufted(inc young), 44 Gadwall, 15 Mallard, 3 Pochard, 12 Snipe, 2 Green Sandpiper, and 1 Sparrowhawk.

Bolton Ings early PM- Present were 8 Cormorant, 4 Grey Heron, 32 Little Grebe, 2 Great Crested Grebe+2 juv, 2 Mute Swan+2 juv, 142 Canada Geese, 38 Greylag, 42 Gadwall, 39 Tufted Duck, 17 Mallard, 5 Pochard, 1 Shoveler, 159 Lapwing, 3 Oystercatcher, 1 Kestrel, 2 Jay, 2+ Green Woodpecker, 1 Grey Wagtail and 1 Kingfisher.
