Visit was first thing and spring seems to be well underway. First singing skylark of the year brought the total to 68 species in the first two months of the year. Two drumming great spotted woodpeckers and a green woodpecker west of the lake.
Black-headed gull (31), bullfinch (7), Canada goose (24), collared dove (2), coot (25), goosander (3 - 1m/2f), great crested grebe (3), great spotted woodpecker (2), green woodpecker (1), jay (3), little grebe (2), mallard (133), moorhen (6), mute swan (8), redwing (18), skylark (1), tufted duck (7), whooper swan (1).
Visit was at dusk and resulted in my first visit this year without black-headed gull. They had all obviously gone off to roost by 6pm. A fourth great crested grebe was in, and only one of the unringed mute swans was still present.
