Wintersett 22.03.17

Hello all.  I'm back from a very rewarding trip to Cuba with Heatherlea,  expertly led by Gerard Gorman and Ian Ford with extremely knowledgeable local guides.  Thanks to Steve, Gray and Cliff for blogging in my absence.

6 degrees with 8/8 grey cloud and rain from 09.30hrs. with a couple of short dry spells.
Wintersett Res:  Whooper Swans were on the move this morning with a total of  129  flying north west:  14 + 53 + 16  between 07:30 and 07:45,   16 at 08.15hrs and  30 at 09.10hrs.  11 Sand Martins were feeding.    4 male Cetti's Warblers were heard: -   north bank,    north east corner (sounded familiar...?),   south east corner and west bank.
Cold Hiendley Res:  Goosander 1 redhead.
Anglers CP:  The cleared islands,  refilled Sand Martin Box and new Tern posts were looking  good today.  Great work yesterday by some of the regulars and Friends of Haw Park Wood and Wintersett.
2 Shelduck  and a Green Woodpecker were notable.
