Brierley Meadows

Perhaps the best wildflower meadow in the whole of Barnsley Borough has been trashed.  I have had a look today and at least 35% has been ploughed and a hedgerow removed.  It made me feel sick.  It was full of yellow rattle and eyebright and not a blade of ryegrass in sight.

Ferry Moor today: Pochard 17, Tufted 19, Gadwall 8, Mute swan 6, Wigeon 19, Lapwing (3 pair), Teal 3, Shoveler 2, Little Grebe 2, Coot 8 and Greylag 2.
