Worsborough res. 18-3-13.

Pair of lesser spotted woodpeckers showing very well early aft. + 1 great spotted and 10 redpolls. I assume from the regular place at the recently cut down tree at the side of the path on rockley dyke. A few bits from yesterday - wilthorpe marsh, no sign of any j. snipe but 10 linnets in ploughed field + 4 lapwings on territory, one displaying. Now 2 pairs of curlews at upperfield lane fields just w. of kexboro. Finished off with a couple of hours at low moor, midhope, - 3+ displaying snipe showing well and 7+ lapwings some displaying made it feel quite spring like. A total of 5 ravens but raptors scarce with 1 buzzard, 1 kestrel and 1 sparrowhawk. A pair of golden plovers came over calling and landed on barnside moor + 150 fieldfares in trees at upper midhope village.
