The Edge 28 th March

Bolton Ings late AM- On the open water were 3 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Little Grebe. 5 Mute Swan, 48 Gadwall, 14 Tufted Duck, 8 Wigeon,  6 Pochard, 4 Mallard, 2 Shoveler,  382+ BH Gull, 11 Common Gull and 1 LBB Gull.Also noted were 13 Canada Geese, 6 Greylag, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Green Woodpecker, 3 Redwing, 1 Jay and 300+ Woodpigeon over Bolton Tip.

Wombwell Ings early PM- Present were 2 Whooper Swan, 118 Canada Geese, 9 Greylag, 2 Pink Footed Geese, 1m Shelduck, 128 Wigeon, 25 Mallard, 20+ Teal, 7 Tufted Duck, 5 Gadwall, 2m+2f Goosander, 2m+1f Shoveler, 39 BH Gull, 1 Common Gull, 3 Snipe, 2 Redshank, 1 Meadow Pipit, 3 Pied Wagtail and 100+ Jackdaw.

Broomhill Flash mid PM- 3 Curlew flew in at 2.30pm but only stayed for 15 minutes before flying west. Also noted 1 Little Grebe, 2 Mute Swan, 2 Shelduck, 71 Wigeon, 5 Tufted Duck, 3 Pochard, 3 Gadwall, 3 Goldeneye, 2 Red Legged Partridge, 2 Grey Partridge, 1 Kingfisher and 1 Kestrel.
