low Moor 28/04/13

A dire day today with the wind howling across the moor with the extra bonus of horizontal rain later on in the day ..

Best bird was a woodcock and the only bird of prey we managed was a  kestrel ..Due to the ever increasing risk of losing the will to live we decided to take a walk to Cliff Wood to see what was about .. Not a lot there either and it was a bit disheartening to see the state of quite a few of the nestboxes ..

Highlight of the day was a pair of pied flycatchers which were along the track beside Midhope Cliff ..

I ask again. Any volunteers to make some new nest-boxes for this site.
