Wombwell Ings mid AM- A female Redstart in Broomhill Park was a great start to the day. On the Ings itself were 1 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron, 2 Little Egret, 2 Mute Swan, 30+ Canada Geese, 3 Greylag, 12+ Mallard, 12 Teal, 12 Gadwall, 10 Tufted Duck, 3 Shoveler, 1f Goosander, 9+ Redshank, 4 Avocet, 1 Dunlin, 1 Greenshank( S. Abbott) Grey Partridge, 1 Red Legged Partridge, 5+ White Wagtail, 2 Yellow Wagtail, 4+ singing Skylark, 1 Chiffchaff, 2 Meadow Pipit, 1 Sparrowhawk and 1 Whitethroat.
Warbler Way late AM- Singing males included 12 Chiffchaff, 12 Willow Warbler, 6 Blackcap, 5 Whitethroat, 4 Lesser Whitethroat, 5+ Wren, 5+ Chaffinch, 1 Garden Warbler and 1 Grasshopper Warbler.
Bolton Ings lateAM/earlyPM- On the open water were 9 Cormorant, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 6+ Little Grebe, 4 Mute Swan, 68 Gadwall, 32 Tufted Duck, 16 Pochard, 10+ Mallard and 1 Shoveler. Also present were 12+ Canada Geese, 8 Greylag, 1 Kestrel and 2 Green Woodpecker.
Broomhill Flash mid AM-Per J.Seeviour. Present were 9 Little Grebe, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Pink Footed Geese, 1 Barnacle Goose, 28 Tufted Duck, 2 Red Legged Partridge and 2 Little Owl.
