The Edge 15th May

Wombwell Ings mid AM-  Present were 1 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Cormorant, 2 Mute Swan, 13 Canada Geese, 11 Greylag, 5 Shelduck, 28 Gadwall, 14 Mallard, 11 Tufted Duck, 5 Shoveler, 2 Pochard, 9 Lapwing, 4 Redshank, 2 Avocet, 1 Dunlin, 2 Kestrel, 1 female Yellow Wagtail, 5 Linnet, 4 Skylark and 1 Sedge Warbler.  A mid PM revisit added 1 more Avocet(total 3), 1 Oystercatcher and 1 Red Legged Partridge.
Broomhill Flash late AM- Noted were 8 Little Grebe, 1 Mute Swan, 27 Canada Geese + 11 young, 14 Tufted Duck, 4 Gadwall, 2 Mallard, 2 Pochard, 1 Shoveler, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Snipe, 1 Little Owl on top lane, 2 Grey Partridge and 2 Red Legged Partridge.
Bolton Ings late AM/early PM- On the open water were 4 Little Grebe, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Cormorant, 3 Mute Swan + 7 cygnets, 11 Canada Geese, 11 Greylag + 4 goslings, 23 Tufted Duck, 6m+4f Pochard, 4 Gadwall, 3 Shoveler, 3 Mallard, 2 LBB Gull and 1 Common Gull .Also present were 1 Grey Heron, 1 Kestrel, 2 Lapwing, 1 Grey Wagtail and 1 Sedge Warbler.

TPT- Singing males included 5 Whitethroat, 4 Blackcap, 4 Chiffchaff and 3 Willow Warbler.
