The Edge 19th May

Wombwell Ings mid AM- Present were 1 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Cormorant, 3 Mute Swan, 26 Greylag, 8 Canada Geese, 2 Shelduck + 6 young, 34 Mallard, 26 Tufted Duck, 22 Gadwall, 3 Shoveler, 1 Pochard, 7 Lapwing, 4 Redshank, 4 Ringed Plover, 1 Kestrel, 1 Red Legged Partridge,  4 Skylark, 4 Reed Bunting, and 2 Linnet.
 A mid PM revisit added 1 Pink Footed Goose, 1 Black Tailed Godwit and c15 House Martin collecting mud for nest building.
 Broomhill Flash mid AM-Highlight was a Barn Owl at the entrance to the nest box at the top of Clegg's Meadow. Also noted were 4 Little Grebe, 4 Mute Swan, 22 Tufted Duck, 10 Mallard, 7 Gadwall, 1m Pochard, 1m Shoveler, 1 Oystercatcher, 1 Snipe, 1 Common Tern(over east at 9.45am), 1 Kestrel and 1 Red Legged Partridge.
Bolton Ings late AM/early PM-  On the open water were 4 Little Grebe, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Cormorant, 2 Mute Swan + 8 cygnets, 31 Tufted Duck, 6 Mallard, 6 Gadwall, 5 Pochard, 2 LBB Gull,and 1 Common Gull. Also present were 4 Lapwing, 1 Oystercatcher and 1 Kingfisher.
TPT-Present were 1 Jay, 1 Green Woodpecker, 5 Willow Warbler, 5 Blackcap. 3 Whitethroat and 3 Chiffchaff.

Barn Owl still present also pink footed goose as of 19.52pm.
