The Edge 9th May

Wombwell Ings mid AM- Present were 1 Grey Heron, 1 Cormorant, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Mute Swan, 7 Canada Geese, 12 Greylag, 22 Gadwall, 13 Mallard, 12 Tufted Duck, 1 Shoveler, c15 Lapwing, 3 Redshank, 2 Avocet, 2 Dunlin, 1 Snipe, 1 Oystercatcher, 2 Red Legged Partridge, c50 Swift, 20+ Swallow, c20 House Martin, 5+ Sand Martin, 5 Skylark, and 1 Whitethroat,  The early PM revisit added 1 drake Garganey, 2 Shelduck, 2 Grey Partridge, 1 Song Thrush and 4 Linnet.
Broomhill Flash late AM- Noted were 4 Little Grebe, 10 Canada Geese, 17 Tufted Duck, 4 Gadwall, 3 Mallard, 3 Pochard, 2 LBB Gull, 1 Arctic Tern through west at 10.20am, 2 Oystercatcher, 2 Red Legged Partridge and 1 Kestrel.
TPT- Singing males included 4 Whitethroat, 3 Willow Warbler, 3 Blackcap and 2 Chiffchaff.
Bolton Ings late AM/early PM- On the open water were 4 Little Grebe, 2 Mute Swan, 8 Canada Geese, 7 Greylag + brood of 7 goslings, 24 Tufted Duck, 5 Pochard, 3 Mallard, 1 Gadwall, 1 LBB Gull and 1 Common Gull. Also present were 1 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Oystercatcher, 1 Kingfisher and 2 Bullfinch.
