Carlton Marsh

This morning 3 Buzzards circled overhead and 48 Pink Feet Geese flew west at 10.20hrs. A group of 4 Siskin were in addition to other calling birds not seen.  9 Meadow Pipits and  2 Swallows were heading south and a Little Owl was present.

5 Peacock butterflies were hibernating in a hole in a railway bridge where a couple of Duabenton's Bat usually roost.

Yesterday (29th) 20 Red Admirals, 8 Small Tortoiseshell and 21 Commas were feeding on self-set Buddlejas along the disused railway embankment. (Chris Parkin)
