The Edge

Broomhill Flash mid am- Only a slight drop in the water level from yesterday. Birds present included 5 Grey Heron, 10, Cormorant, 1 Little Egret, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 12 Little Grebe, 4 Mute Swan+3 cygnets, 66 Gadwall, 41 Shoveler, 14 Mallard, 10 Tufted Duck, 6 Teal, 1 Wigeon, 10+ Swallow, 3 Skylark, 3 LBB Gull, 1 Snipe and 1 Kestrel.

Bolton Ings late am- The highlight of the morning, just(11.59 am), was a Hobby making life unpleasant  for a Sparrowhawk. On the open water were 4 Mute Swan+ 4 cygnets, 19 Tufted Duck, 14 Mallard, 14 Gadwall, 4 Pochard, 1 Shoveler, 13 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 10+ Little Grebe,2 Spotted Redshank and 1 LBB Gull. Also present 2 Mistle Thrush, 2 Red Legged Partridge, 3 Jay and several smallflocks of fly through Golden Plover.
