Having spent three afternoons totalling ten hours after work last week trying to find the elusive lesser pecker.
I finally decided on a sunday morning foray and was rewarded within fifiteen minutes of getting there.
The male LSW flew into the alder trees where its been sighted, began drumming and calling .
10 mins later the female arrived where they stayed for 15 mins before flying off towards the M1 Motorway .
Also spotted 6 treecreepers , 1 male nuthatch.....
