Even More Moor ..

Another 5 hours or so at Low Moor today with Mr Tyke ..

Raven numbers were down on yesterday as we only had 3 birds .. The 'hovering' pale phase buzzard was still present too along with 3 others .. It even got close enough for a half decent photo ..

Also seen were 2 kestrels, a sprawk, 2 peregrines having a tussle before splitting up  .. One of them came straight over the top of us ..
A flock of c35 whoopers were a very welcome addition as they headed over towards Langsett Res ..

Best of the rest were 3 greylags, a snipe, 2 oystercatchers (seen mating in open field), 2 crossbills and a mipit .. Curlew numbers seem to be building a bit and the lapwings are still in good numbers. Worthy of a mention was a flock of starlings which must have been the best part of 200 birds strong ..
