The Edge 18th April

Broomhill Flash mid AM- Seeen were 4 Little Grebe, 2 Mute Swan, 52 Canada Geese, 1 Greylag, 1 Barnacle Goose, 20 Tufted Duck, 7 Mallard, 2 Teal, 2 Shoveler, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Snipe, 1 LBB Gull, 201 BH Gull, 2 Little Owl, 4 White Wagtail, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 2 Red Legged Partridge, 1 Grey Partridge and 7 Hare.

Bolton Ings late AM/early PM-  Singing males included 11 Willow Warbler, 10 Chiffchaff,6 Wren and 1 Blackcap. On the open water were 8+ Little Grebe, 3 Great Crested, 1 Cormorant, 3 Mute Swan, 68 Gadwall, 29 Tufted Duck, 17+ Mallard, 9 Pochard and 1 Common Gull. Also present were 23 Canada Geese, 14 Greylag, 4 Oystercatcher, 1 Snipe and 1 Kestrel.

Wombwell Ings- Highlght 2 Whimbrel noticed at 2.40pm but they flew off south west 5 minutes later. Also present were 1 Grey Heron, 50+ Canada Geese, 2 Greylag, 17 Tufted Duck, 11 Gadwall, 8 Mallard, 8 Teal, 2 Shoveler, 1f Goosander, 1 LBB Gull, 12 Redshank, 5 Ringed Plover, 3 Avocet, 2 LRP, 1 Oystercatcher, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Curlew, 10+ White Wagtail, 3+ Pied Wagtail, 7 Meadow Pipit, 2 singing Skylark, 3 Linnet and 1 Yellowhammer.
