Wilthorpe Marsh at Dawn

I met Upland Tyke at the western end of the marsh this morning at 06.30.  The early start was to do a Water  Rail census.  We had Water Rail 6 territories together with 8 Jack Snipe, 28 Common Snipe, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Woodcock, 1 Curlew (over), 4 Pink-footed Goose (north),19 Mallard, 28 Teal, 2 Grey Partridge, 4 Canada , 2 Tufted, and 3 Green Woodpecker.
