Wintersett 17.04.13

Cool,  overcast with a strong SW wind.
Anglers CP:  Highlight today was a  RED-THROATED  DIVER that flew south at  08.00HRS.
There were 14 Yellow Wagtail in the area.  4  + 9 CHSF + 1 ORF.
Also here: 3rd W Yellow-legged Gull,  3rd W Lesser Black-backed Gull,  Green Woodpecker 1,  Wigeon 1 male,  Common Sandpiper 1,  Redshank 1,  Siskin 1 over and Cormorant 8. 
Wintersett Res: It was a lovely surprise to see the first brood of 11 Mallard ducklings considering the weather conditions over the past few weeks.     Not all was peaceful though. A pair of Willow Tits were having a mighty battle over a nesting site with a pair of  Blue Tits and 2 pairs of Coot were also fighting for territory.
Hirundines: Sand Martin 80,  House Martin 3  and Swallow 30 + 20 CHSF. 
Also here: Shoveler 2 male and 1 female and Pochard 1 male.
Old Royston Flash: 1 Pink-footed Goose  and 2 male, 2 female Gadwall.
