Edderthorpe, Glorious Thursday morning...
The title is a reference to the birds not the weather... Walked on to Houghton Washland around sixish as usual and was confronted with a sight I thought had passed by - The Glossy Ibis. Feeding away merrily on the recently flooded water area (well done the RSPB and Pete Wall), it then got up and flew over the old banking to Edderthorpe. I rushed around to Edderthorpe but no signs until picking it up again at 07.15 in flight heading over to Houghton and I've just had a text (07.50) telling its still on Houghton. Magic!! On Edderthorpe are;- Little Egret 1, Garganey 1 drake, Ringed Plover 1, LRP 2, Dunlin 5, Common Sandpiper 1
