The Edge 5th May

Wombwell Ings mid AM- Glossy Ibis showed well until 8.10am but went into hiding when disturbed by a dogwalker. Relocated it about 9am and was able to make a few birders journeys worthwhile. Also present were 1 Grey Heron, 2 Cormorant, 7 Mute Swan, 12 Greylag, 2 Canada Geese, 1 Shelduck, 1 Garganey, 24 Tufted Duck, 22 Gadwall, 6 Mallard, 2 Shoveler, 10+ Lapwing and 3young, 6 Redshank, 3 Avocet, 1 Oystercatcher, 2 Wheatear, 2 Red Legged Partridge, 5 Skylark, 3 Reed Bunting, 1 Whitethroat, 1 Sedge Warbler and 1 Chiffchaff.
 Bolton Ings late AM- No sign of the Black Necked Grebes which have not been seen since Friday. On the open water were 1 Cormorant, 6 Little Grebe, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Mute Swan, 29 Tufted Duck, 2 Gadwall, 2 Pochard, 2 Mallard and 1 Common Gull. Also present were 1 Grey Heron, 9 Greylag, 8 Canada Geese, 1 Oystercatcher,2 Grey Wagtail and 1 Kingfisher.
TPT- Singing males included 6 Willow Warbler, 4 Blackcap, 4 Whitethroat and 3 Chiffchaff.
