Carlton Marsh

The wader scrape sluice was opened last night to reduce water levels in readiness for the autumn migration. This morning two of us cut back vegetation to allow better views over it.
Before it was disturbed there were 22 Herring Gulls and 4 LBB Gulls. Elsewhere Kingfisher and Gadwall with a brood of 7.

Insects included a very fresh Painted Lady and at least 2 Banded Demoiselle on the wader scrape (a new site for them here).
