The Edge 23/07/2019

Wombwell Ings - Present were 10 Mute Swan, 13 Canada Geese, 23 Mallard, 2 Gadwall, 1 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Cormorant, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 45 Lapwing, 3 Dunlin, 1 Green Sandpiper, 94 BH Gull, and 8 Linnet.
The Fleet - A Curlew, heard calling over Wombwell Ings, dropped onto the edge of the pool at 8.50am. Also viewable were 41 Greylag, 5 Canada Geese, 3 Mallard, 2 Grey Heron, 2 Little Egret, 4 Cormorant, 1 Kestrel, 27 Lapwing, 76 BH Gull, 10 Herring Gull, 4 LBB Gull and 1 Common Gull. Peter Kent also had 2+5juv Little Ringed Plover.
Broomhill Flash - Noted were 2+3y Mute Swan, 38 Canada Geese, 20+35y Gadwall, 10+12y Tufted Duck, 10 Mallard, 12+ Little Grebe, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 131 Coot, 2 Kestrel, 1 Buzzard, 8 Laping, 6+ Snipe, 1 Oystercatcher, 1 Curlew in the backfield and 3+2y LBB Gull.
Bolton Ings - On the open water were 15+2y Mute Swan, 14 Canada Geese, 4 Greylag, 64 Gadwall, 5m+1f Pochard, 5 Tufted Duck. 3 Mallard, 7+3y Little Grebe, 5+2y Great Crested Grebe, 12 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron, 164+5y Coot, 2 Moorhen, 9 BH Gull, 2 LBB Gull and 1 Common Tern. Also present were 1 Buzzard, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 1 Little Egret over west, 1 Kingfisher,1 Sedge Warbler and 2 Linnet.
