Carlton Marsh

18 LBB Gulls and 4 Herring Gulls were on the wader scrape with around 50 BH Gulls. Buzzard and Sparrowhawk buzzed the gulls in the short time I was there. Our resident pair of Buzzards have raised 1 young to the flying stage and it is calling regularly.

At least 3 male Black-tailed Skimmers were whizzing about over the wader scrape and a female was seen in the northern meadow.

A new brood of  8 Peacock butterflies were feeding on Buddleja along with 3 Red Admirals and 3 Commas. Also on the wing Purple Hairstreak, c 20 Speckled Wood, 2 Large White, 2 Small White, 2 Green Veined White with c20 more unidentified 'Whites'.
