Wintersett + Common Scoter Movement.. 27.07.19

Much cooler today. 16 - 18 degrees with 8/8 cloud and rain from 1000hrs.
Anglers CP: Common Scoter movement:
A flock of  40 Common Scoter flew high SW at 08.15hrs and another flock of 150 flew high SW at 10.10hrs.  (Of note @BillAspin at Brockholes had two groups of Common Scoter west at 10:40. c200 birds! and at 10:30-12:10. another flock of 500-600 going through, and then @GTAlstonWader had a flock of c.300 Common Scoter fly high west over Alston Reservoirs, Lancs 10:40 which were probably some of the same birds.)  Graham Catley noted a flock of circa 240 flew west over the Humber Bridge but were lost to low cloud.
Anglers CP: Kingfisher 1.  Common Sandpiper 2.  Green Sandpiper 3.  Common Tern 18.  Pochard 2.  Great Crested Grebe 21.  Little Grebe 1.  Hobby 1.
