Wintersett + Another Excellent Ringing Session + Pics 07.07.19

14 - 17 degrees,  sunny spells  with varying cloud and a light north easterly.
Anglers CP: Black-tailed Godwit 4.  Redshank 1.  Little Ringed Plover 1 juvenile.  Oystercatcher 1.  Greylag Goose 34.  2 large, young Lapwing chicks in Wintersett Village last Thursday, 04.07.19, have made it to the shallows! 
Wintersett Res: A pale looking Bittern dropped into north bank phragmites at 11.26hrs.  A Grasshopper Warbler was reeling on the west bank and another was reeling at Walton Hall. Goldeneye 3.  Gadwall 9.  2 very small Black-headed Gulls on the large, old raft.
145 Birds were ringed this morning.  Highlights were:
 43 Chiffchaff.   9 Willow Warbler.   Reed Warbler 12.   Sedge Warbler 14.   Blackcap 23.   Garden Warbler 4.   Whitethroat 4.  Lesser Whitethroat 1.  Goldcrest 1.  Coal Tit 2.
Lepidoptera: 3 Lunar Hornet Moths were seen this morning at WRes..  2 were on the ringing nets and 1 was egg laying on willow.
