The Edge 09/07 2019

Wombwell Ings - Present were 7 Mute Swan, 3 Greylag, 2 Shelduck, 7 Gadwall, 4 Mallard, 2 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron, 7 Lapwing, 3+1juv Little Ringed Plover, 1 Dunlin, 11 BH Gull, 1 Skylark, 2 Pied Wagtail, 4 Linnet and 3 Reed Bunting. Early morning P. Kent also had 1 Little Egret, 2 Black Tailed Godwit  and 1 Greenshank.
The Fleet - Seen on the new scape area were 4 Greylag, 1 Canada Goose. 2 Tufted Duck, 1 Mallard, 2 Lapwing, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 26 BH Gull, 8 LBB Gull, 7 Herring Gull, 3 Skylark and 2 Pied Wagtail. Peter Kent also had 1 Shoveler and 1 Redshank.
Broomhill Flash - Highlight was a Hobby that gave a brief hunting display for hirundines at 10.40am. Noted were 2+3y Mute Swan, 34+4y Canada Geese, 2+2y Greylag, 12+9y Tufted Duck, 7 Mallard, 4+7y Gadwall, 11 Little Grebe, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Little Egret, 4 Kestrel, 1 Peregrine over at 10.10am, 91+7y Coot, 2 Moorhen, 11 Lapwing, 2+3y LBB Gull and 1 Pied Wagtail.
TPT - 7 Chiffchaff, 3 Blackcap, 2 Whitethroat and 2 Bullfinch.
Bolton Ings - On the open water were 23+2y Mute Swan, 23 Greylag, 71 Gadwall, 7 Mallard, 4 Tufted Duck, 2 Pochard, 5+3y Great Crested Grebe, 7+3y Little Grebe, 5 Cormorant, 185+5y Coot and 2 Common Tern. Also present were 1 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Kestrel, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Oystercatcher, 2 Kingfisher and 1 Grey Wagtail.
