Bolton Ings - 14th October

A repeat of last weeks glorious weather this morning, a little cooler at 9c and a bit more wind but still very pleasant. Unfortunately the birds couldnt match the weather and it was very quiet. Nearly 500 Geese now grazing on the cut grass, the limping Oystercatcher still present and 2 Grey Wagtails on the river were the best I could muster. Full list as follows:- Grey Heron 4, Mute Swan 11, Canada Goose 285, Grey Lag Goose 176, Cormorant 10, Great Crested Grebe 2 ads + 4 juvs, Little Grebe 21, Mallard 2, Gadwall 25, Teal 4, Shoveler 12, Tufted Duck 31, Pochard 11, Coot 210, Moorhen 10, Oystercatcher 1, Lapwing 2, Snipe 1, Black Headed Gull 340, Common Gull 13, LBB Gull 1, Kestrel 1, Green Woodpecker 2, Jay 2, Grey Wagtail 2.
