Quelle Surprise! Wintersett 24.10.12

After a very long muddy walk this morning Pete was surprised when he opened his car and found a pristine Merveille du Jour mothThe moth trap hasn't been put out since Saturday!  He placed the moth on a tree where it immediately tried, but failed,  to find food.  After a dash to the centre to procure sugar to make a solution to feed it, the moth was recaught and placed back in the car where it fed vigorously before falling asleep with its proboscis still in the solution. It was released onto a tree an hour later.
(Insert expletive! How did I miss this? PS)    Merveille du Jour
