Old Moor closed 11am-1pm tomorrow

Advance Notice – closure of Old Moor 11am – 1pm on 12th March

Please be aware that Old Moor will be closed tomorrow between 11am and 1pm due to a visit by HRH The Duke of Kent.

The reserve will open at 09.30 as usual but people will either need to leave the site by 11am or stay on the reedbed trail or Green Lane from 11am to 1pm during the period of closure. Access back to the Visitor Centre from both trails will be closed during that time.

RSPB are suggesting that anyone arriving whilst the reserve is closed, heads to one of the satellite sites until 1pm when the site re-opens. Maps to other sites will be available from staff at the top of the drive. The cafe will also re-open but with a limited service at 1pm.

RSPB would like to pass on their apologies to anyone who might be inconvenienced but hopefully it will be possible for visitors to work round things with a bit of forward planning.

Regarding the visit by HRH The Duke of Kent to the Old Moor. Doncaster Bird Report said "No Hoipoli allowed" Greek expression meaning commoners or masses.
All Hoipoli are now welcome back onto the reserve.
