Return of the Osprey?

Old Moor: A juvenile Osprey visited the area on several occasions this afternoon and early evening. Sprotbough bird? Also on Wath Ings this evening, 57 Golden Plover, 5 Ruff, 4 Dunlin, 6 Black t Godwits. Five Little Egrets roosted last night and a Little Owl was calling at Broomhill Flash where the Black-necked Grebe remains today as well as 2 Yellow and a Grey Wagtail.

Meanwhile below are a couple of cracking Spotted Fly' photos taken this morning by Ron Marshall at Whitwell Wood, near Stocksbridge (8 - 10 present).

Don't want to be picky but ... 'Whitwell Wood' is actually called Millstones Wood. (Only found that out about four years ago after living in Stocksbridge since 1970!)
