Carlton Marsh

New in this morning was a male Pochard. This afternoon both our resident Buzzards were sat side by side in a low hawthorn.  (one smaller than the other, which I took to be the male) On the feeders were Coal Tit, Willow Tit and a gang of Long-tailed Tits. A Cormorant flew in and at least 2 Water Rails called.
Bittern came out at 15.00hrs (I had just left) and posed until close to darkness when it climbed the reeds. (Dave Standish)
