Wintersett + Gull Roost 23.01.17

A frosty, very cold start -3 to 3 degrees with 8/8 cloud and a light south westerly.
ICE: CHRes 85%,  WRes: 3%.
Wintersett Res:  Cetti's Warbler 1 singing male on the west bank.
Moorhouse Lane:  A Firecrest was found by Chris Swaine mid afternoon.  It was with 4  Goldcrests  on the disused railway,  east of road bridge towards Big Pond.  It  wasn't the one that Archie ringed on 29.10.16 as this bird was ring free.
Wintersett Res. Roost was checked.   Same old story, plenty of birds coming in but 100s coming in from the south east,  Hampole direction on dark.  Just one notable was picked up - the dark juvenile Glaucous  Gull at 16.30hrs.
Here are a couple of Chris' Firecrest shots, taken with his new camera.  Great find!
