Wintersett + Gull Roost 24.01.17


-2 - 4 degrees,  with 8/8 cloud and the odd sunny spell this afternoon, with a  light south westerly.
ICE: Anglers CP 15%.  Wintersett Res. 3%,  Cold Hiendley Res. 85%.
Anglers CP:  Shoveler 19 + 2 WRes.,  Wigeon 282,  Teal 38 + 1 CHR + 1 WRes..  A Swan Goose Hybrid was feeding with the Canadas mid morning.
Moorhouse/Back Lane: The FIRECREST was seen on disused railway at 08.25hrs and again by Paul and Ruth Thorp at 15.14 hrs.  See  https://twitter.com/CroftonBirder  for map.
Haw Park Wood:  Siskin 1  and Nuthatch 1.
Cold Hiendley Res: Kingfisher 1  and Grey Wagtail 1. 
Wintersett Res: Water Rail 1 on north bank.  Cetti's Warbler 1 singing male in boathouse reeds + 1 calling on west bank. 
WRes. Gull Roost:  Plenty of big gulls on before dark but still lots coming in after. 2 notables today. The adult Yellow-legged Gull was on a buoy near the boathouse at 16.00hrs.  The adult Iceland Gull was in at 16.35hrs.
