Loss n gains

Old Moor = Summer-plumaged Black-necked Grebe on The Mere. Also 10+ Avocet, 9 Black-tailed Godwits and the Med' Gull still.

Meanwhile, the now fantastic looking Wombwell Ings has drake Garganey, Greenshank and plenty of commoner birds.

Yes Wombwell Ings is looking good from Darfield.
But the RSPB still need to start managing this site properly, which means 30 to 60 % of the grassland area covered in water during winter and then a steady draw down of the water levels during March to May to catch any potential breeding birds and also passage migrants.
Leaving the site in its current un-managed state is unacceptable.
