666 Wintersett 19.05.12

Wintersett Res - The first brood of 6 Mute Swan cygnets was seen briefly.  A male Sedge Warbler was singing on the north east bank and a male Nuthatch was calling in Pits Wood.    6 Common Terns were present and a Yellow Wagtail flew over.
Highlights today were at |Anglers CP this afternoon. 6 Turnstone flew north at 3.15pm. and a Little Tern dropped in but left north at 4.16pm.
The overcast, damp and very cold, 7^oC, conditions kept the hirundines and swifts low over the water today.   Area totals were: Swallow 500,  House Martin 60,  Swift  700,  Sand Martin  15.
