Old Moor - Saturday

Another good day at Old Moor, early morning - Bittern male booming and female seen frequently, Cuckoo calling, Teal 12(11 drakes), Mediterranean Gull 4, LRP 2, Common Tern 8, Common Gull 1, Avocet 16, Oystercatcher 8, Barn Owl 1. Mid morning a Black Tern dropped in to the mere and was still present late afternoon. Teal increased to 15(14 drakes) and 2 female Pintail on Wath Ings was a surprise. Elsewhere a Greenshank was seen at Adwick and this evening on Wombwell Ings were the following - Greenshank 1, Avocet 4, LRP 3, Redshank 11, Shelduck 2 + 9y. Broomhill Village 1 Mediterranean Gull over.
