The Edge 16.02.16

Wombwell Ings - 100% ice-cover. Present were 2 Mute Swan, 4 Canada Geese, 12 Greylag over, 2 Shelduck, 99 Wigeon, 19 Teal, 18 Mallard, 3 Tufted Duck, 3 Gadwall, 2 Little Egret, 2 Grey Heron, 19 Coot, 48 Golden Plover, 16 Lapwing, 2 Snipe, 281 BH Gull, 4 Common Gull, 3 Redwing, 5 Skylark, 1 Greater Spotted Woodpecker, 1 singing Song Thrush and a group of 15 Pied Wagtail.
TPT - A pair of Kingfisher were seen flying along Knoll Beck. Also present were 4+ Siskin and 1 Greater Spotted Woodpecker.
Bolton Ings - 70% ice-cover when we arrived decreasing to 50% by midday. Noted were 2 Mute Swan, 25 Canada Geese over, 22m+38f Pochard, 37 Tufted Duck, 7 Mallard, 5 Teal, 4 Gadwall, 2 Shoveler, 1f Goldeneye, 3 Little Grebe, 2 Cormorant, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 122 Coot, 4 Moorhen, 3 Buzzard, 28 BH Gull, 11 Common Gull, 1 LBB Gull, 1 Green Woodpecker and 1 Lesser Redpoll.
