Birds today included 2 Little Grebes, 2 Little Egrets, Kingfisher, Great Spot Woodpecker, Kestrel and Buzzard (K. Bannister/L & Corrall)
Butterflies on show were 2f Brimstone, 12 Large White, 13 Speckled Wood, 2 Holly Blue, 1 Red Admiral, 1 Painted Lady, 39 Peacock, 8 Comma, 5 Gatekeeper, 28 Ringlet, 58 Small Skipper and 57 unidentified White species.
Also of interest 3 Brown Hawker, 2 Southern Hawker 1m 1f Banded Agrion, and a Roesel's Bush Cricket (Roeseliana roeselii). The latter, found on the gated entrance to the Western Meadow, is new for this site (Chris Parkin).
