The highlight of today was a Great White Egret on the Whin Pool this afternoon (Bob Embleton).

Also present Sparrowhawk, 3 Greylags, 2 Canada geese, Water Rail and 36 Pied Wagtails on the potato field (CG).

 A very late Common Blue in the autumn sunshine along with 2 Red Admiral, 1 Peacock, 1 Small White and Common Darter. Plants still in flower included Yellowort, Blue Fleabane, Orange Hawkweed and Tormentil (C. Parkin).
